Note Taking with Musical Composers
Explore the genius of music through notes & writing!

Supplies Needed: Pencils with erasers, red & other pens, pencils, highlighter, single subject notebook, pronged folder. 

*Optional: Computer & parental assistance emailing practice submissions/student questions. Documentary available upon request if the student is struggling.

 

 

Teacher Email: available for practice submission & student questions about the assignment. Teacher can/will email prompts from class (proofreading & note taking method of the week)

 

 

Description:

Viewing six-nine 30-40 minute documentaries and practicing 4 different note taking methods over the 12 week period. 

Utilizing Hillsdale college resource lecture videos, various documentaries available on YouTube, and bringing in documentaries on our own platform.

The Baroque Era: Bach, Handel, and Vivaldi

The Classical Period: Haydn and Mozart 

The Classical Period: Beethoven and Schubert

Concert 

Modernist Composers: Stravinsky, Boulez, and Crawford Seeger

Gospel Composers: Stanphill

Animation Composers: Anime & Animated film scores

 

Quality over quantity summary skill writing, vocabulary expansion, presenting, and open class discussion.
